Thornado Preview
I’m sure that most of you have heard of Thornado by now, but what the hell is it? Well, being developed by Factor 5, this game was originally scheduled to put in an appearance on Nintendo 64, but was wisely decided to put on hold until better technology came out, hence GameCube.
The actual story behind Thornado-we can only speculate. My best guess is that the planet has been invaded by aliens, and Thor is the only guy that can save the world and restore it back to normal.Thor has the ability for Thor to ultra-cool wind-based weaponry. The grappling hook that we’ve come to know and love will also be included in Thor’s weapon lineup.
The brief demo that was seen at Spaceworld 2000 was thankfully running in real time on GameCube’s hardware. What was seen was a futuristic blond haired man, running across a bridge amid car explosions. The amount of detail on “Thor”, the characters name, was incredible. Everything from his finger movements (all animated individuality) to the seemingly real-life bridge. The scenery didn’t show a hint of pop up or slowdown.
No release date has been announced for Thornado, but we can only hope that it’s when GameCube launches. Factor 5 hasn’t landed a publisher yet, but they’ll have no trouble picking up someone in the future.
