The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Fire Down Below
I finally got my paws on a playable demo disk for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Sunday night at Walmart. Let me start off by reassuring all the Zelda fans (and who isn’t one?) that this game is going to easily top the sales charts. I don’t want to go into too much detail here but I will hit some high points.
There were three playable levels and I, like a good Zelda player, went for the one that was called “Dungeon”. Moving Link around was a lot like moving Mario around in Super Mario Sunshine. The visuals were great and after five minutes of playing time, you almost forget it’s cel-shaded. You can really see the power of the Gamecube while standing above the lava lake. As the heat from it rises, the entire screen moves with the heat. The still screenshots don’t do this game any justice. The sound on the demo tv wasn’t great but I did hear those familiar midi sounds of dungeon delight.
I do have one or two complaints though. They really are just nit picking, but you’ll have to wait until the full review to see what they are.
