Super Mario Sunshine Preview
Guess who’s back again! Yes, it’s our all-time favorite character- Mario. This time he’s on the GameCube, back and he’s looking better than ever in the new 128-bit gaming machine.
Super Mario Sunshine is looking to be Mario’s best adventure yet. The storyline goes as this:
Mario has taken a vacation after escaping from King Boo in the haunted Mansion. But trouble falls upon our hero again, as his paradise has turned into a living garbage dump! And if there’s one thing that bugs Mario, it’s someone messing up his vacation. So he grabs his high powered water blaster, and begins his new adventure!
After looking at a picture of the Japanese game manual (Thanks to NinGC!), it shows that Princess Peach will again be captured. By now you’re probably thinking, “Same old storyline….sigh,” but this time it’s going to be different. Bowser will not be appearing in Super Mario Sunshine. Instead, a new villian has come about. The new villian appears to be an imposter of Mario, with a “transparent” body. He is known to write graffiti on walls, and is responsible for the whole mess on the island.
The look of the game is superb. Cutting-edge graphics bring the best out of SMS. Super Mario Sunshine may be the best graphically developed game on the GCN to date. Every detail is there, from the wrinkle in Mario’s overalls, to the waves in the large ocean.
The gameplay also looks impressive, with absolutely huge levels. From what we hear, SMS will be VERY challenging to all gamers. Also, the ability to ride Yoshi is known to be in the games, but as of now we do not know the purpose of this. The 1 player mode will probably be as good as Super Mario 64’s! Folks say that it’s harder to beat than Eternal Darkness, and twice as hard as Resident Evil! Lots of objectives and shines to get (Shine Get!) make this game’s replay value excellent.
Personally, I can’t wait for Super Mario Sunshine. It will be an enjoyable game for all ages. Looks like Nintendo has done it again! Shine Get on August 26 2002!
