Super Mario Kart 128 Preview

Of course, none of us has seen pictures or movies of the next “Mario Kart” game, and Nintendo has not made it official, but it comes to mind, that Super Mario Kart was a huge success on the Super Nes, and Mario Kart 64 was a huge success on the N64. Why wouldn’t Nintendo stop making Mario Kart games? So then, all we can do now is speculate.

As we all know, the graphics in Mario Kart 64 were just outstanding for 1997, and they still are today. We know for sure that the graphics will be even better on Mario Kart 128, but do they really need to improve the graphics that much? I think they should just go and spend the money on gameplay instead of graphics.

The most important factor of an entire game is the gameplay. Nintendo will hopefully create an immense game. When I say immense, I mean tons of races and battle arenas. A few extra characters would help too. The game will definitely be a 4 player game, as it won’t succeed without the 4 player support.

Tell me, would you rather crush 1 of your friends in a battle arena, or 3 of them? Speaking of multiplayer, the game could also be online capable, so you can either log on to a network and race/battle random people, or just dialup to your friend’s house (those with broadband internet will have a much more enjoyable experience).

Will it be possible for more than 4 players in this game? I’m betting of course, I mean, if 4 people logged onto the network from one house, don’t you think it would be possible to race with 4 other people across the country? Or World? 8 racers are always available on the Grand Prix. mode, but you can only race against friends in VS or battle them in Battle mode.

As seen in Perfect Dark on the N64, there were sim bots to add to the challenge and fun of the game, so Mario Kart 128 could probably have “SimRacers” in there, and you can set a difficulty level. It’s all possible with the power of The GameCube. I bet that when GameCube launches, Nintendo will announce Mario Kart 128.
