Picassio Preview

I was looking forward to this game for some reason, and I don’t really know why, but now that I got a closer look at it, I am impressed! Unlike the earlier releases of PS2 games, Nintendo already has some great next-gen games in the works that can use Gamecube’s full potential to create a stunning game like this.

In Picassio, your character has been hired by a rich art collector to steal the most impressive pieces of art available. The guy that hired you wants to prove once and for all to his rich art collecting buddy that he has the biggest most impressive art collection. So of course the other billionaire hires a cat burglar himself to beat you to every punch and keep you from getting the goods.

When you’re on your mission, the other cat burglar is on the same mission as you, so he/she will try to screw you over by stealing your stuff, generally sabotaging you so you can get caught by the police, all for the sake of getting pieces of art and jewelry.

Due to the outcry of violence in video games, in Picassio, you are equipped with only a dart gun to subdue enemies. You are also equipped with a lot of high tech toys, like night vision goggles. Like GoldenEye, stealth will play a big role in Picassio, so you have to be on your guard at all times.

Picassio is using a new 3D engine, and a multiplayer game is also coming along, where you will have to compete against fellow comrades in missions to steal items. Look for this one to be coming out with Gamecube in fall of 2001.
