Luigi's Haunted Mansion Preview

After taking to the shadows to let his superstar brother shine in the limelight for nearly 10 years, our beloved Luigi finally gets a Gamecube game of his own.
This game is like no other I’ve ever seen. Luigi must traverse through an eerie haunted mansion armed with only a GB Color and a combination flashlight/vacuum. The object is for him to suck up all the ghosts that inhibit this mansion. The GBC detects if any ghosts are nearby, and your flashlight illuminates them, therefore stunning them and making them an easier target for you to suck up in your vacuum cleaner. Some ghosts are bigger than others, and are therefore harder to eliminate. Nintendo also says to expect a lot of puzzles.
The controls are simplified, with R being used to operate the vacuum, Z to spray the water out of the hose. The Camera stick moves Luigi, while the Analog stick is used to direct the vacuum cleaner/flashlight. In my opinion, the analog should have been used to control Luigi’s movements, but we’re sure Nintendo knows what they’re doing.
The funny part is that the game is a 3D platformer, but it isn’t. Everything is in full 3D, but the camera rarely moves, which turns the game into more of a 2D experience.
When asked why Luigi was getting his own game, game god Shigsy said “A lot of my staff have been saying for a long time ‘Can’t we do something with Luigi?’ So we decided that maybe in between the time that we showed the last Mario and the time that we do the next one, we could squeeze Luigi in there somewhere.” I can hardly wait
