DK Coconut Crackers Preview

Still when it was shown at last year’s E3, Donkey Kony Coconut Crackers looked and played like a treat. It’s a difficult game to explain; essentially the easiest way to get an image in your head is to imagine Tetris on an isometric plan. Though don’t think this game involves the subject graphics! Ok, I’ll try and break it down some more. The game is basically presented in an isometric view that can be changed in the game to over-head view, but for the sake of quick thinking, so far it seems that isometric view is easier to use in the game. Now like I said before it is quite like Tetris as plates fall from the sky in all different colors, and it’s up to you to place them strategically on the playing field. Plates of the same color can be place on top of each other, and a good way to get combos is to build squares and rectangles out of your lates (and it’s probably still hard for you to understand but it’s hard for me to explain!).

The problem with this is that those pesky Kremlings running across your playing field cracking your plates and destroying your combos. The only way to get rid of these guys is to forward think your plate placement and knock them off when you build a shape.

Rare had this game running smoothly at E3, and we’ve seen nothing of it since. But they were using the same graphical method as with their DKC game on the SNES all those years ago- so it looks pretty. They’ve also promised a four player mode via your trusty link-cable. As I stated before, we haven’t seen anything of the game for a while, but Rare’s gba developments are due to hit the light very shortly with Diddy Kong Pilot and Sabrewulf simply itching to reach the public. As well as their continued leaking of GameCube related gaming, I’m sure we’ll have something to the form of a date for you guys soon, but until we do keep on watching the news about this game.
