GBA SP Hitting Oceania

For those who didn’t already know the GameBoy Advance SP model will be available in Australia and most other countries in the Oceania region on March 28th. The recommended retail price for this sexy looking machine is at a price of AU$199. Like the GameBoy Advanced this version will be 100% compatible with all GameBoy software. If you import a GameBoy game it will work like a charm on the SP since all GB games are not regionally coded. The Oceania region model will be in both the good looking Platinum and not-as-good Indigo (I know which one I’m getting). For those who don’t know much about this version of the GameBoy read below.

In this model of the GameBoy batteries won’t be a problem as Nintendo have taken the approach of using rechargeable batteries (eg. mobile phones). The battery when fully charged (takes around 3 hours to charge up to max) will last for 10 hours with the back light which is quite effective when playing in the dark and 18 hours with the back light off. The screen size is around the same as the GBA yet the whole system won’t be much wider than the size of a GBA cartridge. The device is easily foldable (closing the hood [duh]) and it’s one of the coolest looking Nintendo gadgets around!
