Aussie’s are buying 2 GBA SP’S A MINUTE!

After ninety-two hours of retail selling time, the Game Boy Advance SP™ has accumulated sales of just over 2 units per minute.

From 9:00am Friday 28th March to close of business Sunday April 6th at 5:00pm the Game Boy Advance SP sold through a staggering 11,587* units to consumers eager to own the latest in portable gaming.

“We saw an amazing response from consumers in the lead-up to the Game Boy Advance SP launch”, says Steve Wilson, Managing Director, Electronics Boutique Australia and New Zealand. “The Game Boy Advance SP figures we have witnessed in just over one week have further cemented our commitment to providing our Consumers with a full range of what is the leading brand in portable gaming”.

The Game Boy Advance SP is the second addition to the next generation in hand-held consoles from Nintendo, boasting a slick new compact design with flip-top screen and in-built rechargeable battery. The Game Boy Advance SP also comes with a front light that can be switched on or off, allowing gameplay almost anywhere.

Since its introduction in 1989, Nintendo’s portable Game Boy® line has been responsible for sales of over 140 million units and more than half a billion games worldwide.

Since launching in Australia in June 2001, the Game Boy Advance™ has sold, at retail, over 270,000** units with software sales of over 620,000** units.
