Microsoft Games on GBA?
Due to Mircosoft’s crippled sales in Australia and Europe Microsoft have made a deal with a GameBoy Advanced publisher, THQ. This deal will mean that you will be seeing X-BOX and Microsoft PC games on the Nintendo handheld. But why would our gaming company, Nintendo, allow this? Microsoft may of made a console with good specs but does it have games of a matched standard? Well through this deal Nintendo will be the real winners even though Microsoft do get some money out of it, Nintendo get much more. Nintendo does own the handheld gaming market and what a great way to exploit this power than rival publishing rights on the platform. Though this deal has not be finalised what will this mean for the games transformed? Will they be changed into better versions or will it just be a rip?
But there is another positive side to the story. If Mircosoft get their games on the handheld that will mean that the target audience for GBA will rise from around 18 and under to 25/20 and under which would be really good for the GBA as it would get a few more thousand sales.
So is this deal a good one?
