What Happened to Gameboy?
I remember the days when there was always a Gameboy game that I wanted to buy or play and you could go to your friends house and just sit back and play GB with them. Swapping games, multiplayer…all the good stuff but, what happened to those days?
I think the big reason why there is a lack of this is due to the fact that a lot of the new Gameboy games are aimed for younger fans and not at teens like the Gameboy was suppose to do says Atsushi Asada, the leader of Gameboy. Recent titles like Rugrats, Mary Kate & Ashley, Blues Clues and even Elmo!, have made the license from Nintendo to hit the shelves. This is suppose to appeal to teens? I think not. It’s not only the maturity of the games but, the games in genral. Some are just plain dumb. You can’t have very decent sports games for the Gameboy due to the lack of colors and graphics so why even try in the first place? Do people really buy these games? Why can’t Gameboy come out with more games that made them big in the first place. Games like Mario, Metroid, Kirby, Zelda. I could go on for a while but, I don’t want to make myself cry ^_^
I hope the story for the GBA is a whole lot different since the GBA is aimed at an even older audience “senior high school student, university student and young businessman” I know that there has to be some games for the little ones but, not a takeover that gives Nintendo a bad name.
