The Fairplay Campaign
A lot of discussion has spurred about The Fairplay Campaign. What’s it all about? It’s a campaign run by an unknown source in the UK that says video games are a rip-off.
You see, Europeans are paying way over what is needed for their games. They pay Ł45 for video games, which I believe is around $75-$80 US. It’s an outrage they are paying this much, and something is finally being done because games don’t cost nearly that amount to produce. There is not one reason that the games could not be sold for Ł20 or even less!
The game industry really has no choice but to listen to the angry gamers, and lower the prices. For example, the Microsoft XBOX. When it first came out it cost Ł300! They claimed it was a fair price, but when nobody listened they lowered the cost of the XBOX nearly in half. The campaign aims to do the same thing with games.
Now we’re not saying never to buy a game again, but just for one week, December 1-8, DON’T BUY GAMES. It’s good for the sake of everyone’s hard on cash. Heck, you could be getting two games for the price of one if this works out all well.
I don’t live in Europe, I’m from Western New York. But I am happy to say that the gamers deserve lower prices over in the UK. We here at Gamequbed.com support The Fairplay Campaign, and wish them all the best of luck.
