Indrema: Say What?
The first I had ever heard of this “console” was in the Next Generation magazine. I was interested, so I decided to take a closer look at it.
Console
The Indrema has a sleek, no-nonsense look about it, and judging by the system design, it is also very small. The game port looks like it will support something other than a Mini-DVD, DVD or anything else remotely resembling a disk.
Games
Indrema supports independent developers, so theoretically there won’t be any guidelines as to what the developers can produce. Hmm, this could allow for a whole new variety of gaming. Then again, you may just get all of those titles that didn’t make it past Nintendo’s Quality Control.
System
Indrema is a Linux-based, open source console. It has an upgradeable GPU (how the hell do you upgrade your GPU?). Judging by the four little holes in front, it can support four controllers. It also has built-in Internet Access, so connectivity will be ‘outta da box (I love saying that).
Bottom Line
Well, if this system EVER releases, which is an accomplishment in itself, it will be really interesting to see what it can do against Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony…
